👋 About Me

Hi, I'm Ernest—an ophthalmic surgeon and healthtech operator based in London 🇬🇧.

I'm currently on secondment from clinical practice as Science Director at Ufonia, where I lead our science team in building safe autonomous conversational assistants to transform healthcare delivery.

I’m also pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of York's Centre for Assuring Autonomy researching how to safely deploy AI in healthcare by applying safety engineering principles.

Outside work, I co-founded stinterview.com to mentor budding ophthalmologists, teach on UCL's Bioscience Entrepreneurship MSc, and write about productivity, health-tech, and learning. When I’m not working, you’ll find me cooking, playing tennis.
